Alpine Ridge Group brings senior operations leadership to owner-led businesses, grounded in a background in safety and emergency management. Our advice comes from years of leading crews, budgets, programs and the people behind them, combined with an objective outside view.
Before founding Alpine Ridge Group, Chris spent more than 14 years in operations leadership, most recently as General Manager of an infrastructure construction business. Over that time he has led teams of every size, from focused groups of five to ten to organizations of more than 100 employees. He led crews, schedules, budgets and the people behind them, and saw first-hand how much a business can achieve when everyone is working from the same plan and the same numbers.
Chris's foundation was built in emergency services and safety. He began as a firefighter, served as a Safety Advisor and Deputy Fire Chief with Suncor and Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc., and later became the national Emergency Management Specialist for Suncor's distribution facilities, developing and implementing Environmental Emergency (E2) Regulation plans across the network. He then led operations in GFL's emergency response division before taking on more senior business operations leadership roles. That work shaped how he approaches every decision: weigh the impact of action and inaction, look five steps ahead, and still make clear, timely decisions when the situation calls for one. It's the same discipline behind a strong assessment, seeing not only where a business stands today, but where each choice will take it.
Founding Alpine Ridge Group was a deliberate decision, not a sudden one. Chris held the plan for years, choosing to give his full focus to the businesses he was leading until the time was right to commit to it fully.
Along the way, he served under exceptional senior executives and CEOs, and worked alongside some of the most underrated leaders in business. He saw many approaches up close. Some worked and some didn't; some brought teams together and others wore them down. He has led independent workers and nationwide cross-functional teams, face to face and fully remote, including colleagues, now friends, he only met in person after the roles had ended.
One lesson has held true throughout: a strong network of leaders, owners and colleagues is worth more than any title. Every senior leadership role in his career has come through a past mentor or a long-standing connection. That is the kind of relationship Alpine Ridge Group sets out to build with every client.
